The book deals with the significance of medical personalities of Czech origin within the framework of the Second Vienna Medical School. Its main goal is to evaluate the role this school played both in the field of medicine and from the perspective of Czech history, and to assess whether its representatives and their work can be deemed worthy of world renown and significance. ***** The author has processed substantial information about the main figures of this group and compared them with dozens of prominent personalities from various nations. After continuously addressing many specific questions, he designated the Second Vienna Medical School as a globally significant and original entity. The main figures, including Professors Karel Rokitanský, Josef Škoda, Ferdinand Hebra, Josef Hyrtl, and Jakob Kolletschka, along with other collaborators and notable successors, significantly impacted the medical conditions of their time, initially in Vienna and soon across Europe and the world. Each contributed to the progressive advancement of their field and collectively initiated interdisciplinary collaboration in medicine.
