The book recalls, through engaging text complemented by colorful and often unique photographs, the participation of Czech athletes with disabilities on the international stage and their diverse journeys to win some medals. There were quite a few of them. The publication maps four-year sports cycles – starting on the shores of the Black Sea, in Turkish Samsun, where our team won two gold medals right away. Readers will then remember the Paralympic Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea, where we were bravely represented by a group of sled hockey players and a team of alpine skiers. In 2019, two sporting events took place – the Global Games in Brisbane, Australia, and the Winter Deaflympics. Finally, this book presents the Paralympic Games in Tokyo, Japan, which were postponed to 2021 due to the global coronavirus pandemic.
