Beschreibung

The Command of Special Combat Units (V.Z.B.Ú.) was established by a decree of the Ministry of National Defense on Friday, October 29, 1920. From that day on, a glorious history of our assault vehicle units began to be written in Milovice. The diligent work of the officers of V.Z.B.Ú., led by Captain Karel Eichmann, enabled the transformation of the unit first into a battalion and subsequently into regiments of assault vehicles. In February 1929, the deputy commander of the Assault Vehicle Battalion, Colonel Josef Hranáč, was tasked with writing the chronicle. He immediately took on the task, processing all available documentation from the archives of armored trains and the Assault Vehicle Battalion since 1919, as well as information obtained from involved parties. However, neither he nor his deputies completed the chronicle. After the occupation, the unfinished work fell into private hands, and thanks to the owner's willingness, members of the Difrological Club were later able to copy and photograph it. As a result, it has been partially preserved. For the centenary of the unit's establishment, the chronicle was prepared for publication, supplemented with rich appendices including biographies of commanders and more than a hundred period photographs.
