The 311th Czechoslovak Bomber Squadron of the RAF was the only Czechoslovak bombing unit operationally active from the territory of Great Britain during World War II. From September 1940 to April 1942, as part of the British Bomber Command, it targeted objectives in Germany, Italy, and German-occupied territories. Subsequently, until the end of the war in 1945 – as part of the Coastal Command – it undertook naval reconnaissance and anti-submarine warfare tasks.
