A mother disappears, leaving two siblings and a desire to stay together in a city where only those who deserve them have names. After their mother’s disappearance, Kryštof and Ida are left alone, and their world begins to fall apart. The city relentlessly shrinks around them, with fewer and fewer places they are allowed to enter. Kryštof does everything he can to protect his sister and maintain the appearance of normality. Yet in a child’s timeless world, where neither age nor era matters, it is impossible to live forever. Můry is a story about sibling love, growing up and the desire to secure a better life, whatever that may mean. A world full of nameless people, in a time that supposedly does not touch its characters, suddenly takes on definite shapes, and they are sometimes more frightening than the darkness. There is nothing left but to find a way towards the light, just as moths do. The book is in Czech.
