In a small Czech village, the adults managed to completely drive away the frost. But now the children can't skate on the pond, funny icicles aren't forming on the roofs, the snow is melting quickly, and so there’s no sledding, tobogganing, or skiing. Soon it becomes clear that this is far from the end of the problems.
What will they do now?

The story "Where Did the Frost Go?" is intended for beginner readers. It respects the principles of the genetic method. The author consulted the text with both instructors of the genetic reading method and natural scientists. The book also contains fun reading comprehension tasks, making it easier for educators in primary schools.
The genetic reading method was introduced in the Czech Republic by writer and educator Josef Kožíšek back in 1913, and after the end of the socialist ban, it has gradually returned to many schools since the 1990s. In genetic reading, syllabication is not used; children initially learn only capital printed letters, which they spell out. Therefore, the story about how the frost disappeared and what it caused is primarily composed of monosyllabic words, with disyllabic words added from the fourth chapter, and in the last three chapters, young readers will find longer words.
