Beschreibung
For more than a year, attacks by the mysterious Son of Sam terrorize New York. Fear spreads through the city as an unknown figure roams the streets at night with a .44-caliber revolver, searching for his next victim. No one knows when or where the shooter will strike, and no one is safe. On Wednesday, 10 August 1977, New York police arrest Yonkers postal worker David Berkowitz in connection with the attacks. He later confesses to shooting sixteen people, six of whom die from their injuries, and the case is officially closed. Journalist Terry Maury, however, finds something wrong with Berkowitz’s confession. How can parts of the police sketches fail to resemble the perpetrator? Why do the witnesses’ statements contradict one another so fundamentally? What do the codes in the letters with which the killer taunts police before his capture mean? And what role is played by the mutilated German shepherds found near his apartment and the satanic sect that meets in a nearby park?
