Outside the town of Maggoty, the body of a young girl is found in an old cemetery. The investigation is taken over by Commissioner Gavin Desmond, a newcomer to the police department, along with Inspector Sofia Garderer, who feels she has been at the police for too long and doesn't believe that the new chief could change anything. However, they must set aside their personal animosity, as the number of dead increases and the case becomes more complicated. Who is the unknown dead girl and how did she end up in the cemetery? Is the killer someone local? It turns out that a place called the children's cemetery hides another horrific secret, but by then Gavin and Sofia are forming a good team, and the killer doesn't stand a chance against them.
The Children's Cemetery is the first installment in a detective series set in the fictional Arvéd Kingdom.
