Beschreibung
Ancient Greek myths and legends were born from the folk imagination of the ancient Greeks at a time when people did not even know the iron plow. They were created by the genius of the famous nation of the Hellenes and have withstood the tests of millennia. ***** It is hard to imagine a cultured person who does not know who Heracles or Prometheus, Aphrodite or Europa, Cyclopes, Sirens, Muses, or the thunderous Zeus were. ***** A selection from these myths and legends was processed in the early second half of the last century by writer Eduard Petiška, and readers have loved the book, written very modernly yet with great respect for tradition, mainly for its captivating nature and freshness. ***** It was first published in 1961 with illustrations by Václav Fiala at the State Publishing House for Children's Books, and in 1964 the book was expanded. ***** In the Drobek edition, we publish the work with the original illustrations.
