When, based on this encounter, he resolves to survive at all costs, he embarks on a journey lasting several decades, during which he will visit several continents and glimpse into the darkest corners of twentieth-century history. He will uncover a secret society of beings that likely often operate behind the most horrific and violent world events; beings that kill from a distance and through manipulated intermediaries; beings endowed with the psychic ability to "use" other people.
The trio of the most powerful members of this secret order meets regularly to assess and compare the successes they achieve in their calculated, bloody campaign. However, during one meeting, something will happen that they could never have anticipated...
