Nita doesn't kill supernatural beings or sell parts of their bodies on the internet – that's what her mother does. Nita only dissects the bodies after they are 'delivered' to her. Until her mom brings home a live specimen and orders Nita to start gradually cutting it up while it's still alive. However, dissecting a teenager who keeps begging her for help is too much for Nita. She's not willing to go that far. But when she decides to save her mother's victim, she ends up sold herself and essentially in the same position as that teenager – because Nita isn't quite 'human' herself. She has the ability to change her biology, a skill that fetches a high price on the black market. When she finds herself locked in a cage, she tries to escape at all costs. To succeed, she must delve into the darkest corners of her being. And she's not alone in this.
