Beschreibung
Aesop is considered the founder of the Greek fable and remains one of the most famous fable writers to this day. He recited his stories orally. They were short prose forms with a concise plot, featuring a stable group of characters, especially animals and plants, which take on human traits and become types, carriers of specific character. Real people and figures of Greek gods often appear, and dialogue is common, giving the fables momentum, enhancing the drama and dynamics of the stories. Each fable contains a didactic lesson at the end; their main purpose is essentially social and philosophical education. Examples of his work include the story 'The Crow and the Fox,' in which the fox deceives the crow with flattery and steals its cheese, or 'The Fox and the Stork.'
