Longyearbyen, year 2110: Far to the north, deep within a mountain lies a seed vault collected from all corners of the world. In the inhospitable and harsh Svalbard landscape, a small community has formed, trying to live in harmony with nature and without contact with other people. Among them are a teenage boy named Tommy, his father, two younger brothers, and their grandmother Louise, the guardian of the seed bank. But then, an unexpected disaster strikes Longyearbyen, leaving only Tommy, his brothers, their grandmother, and two girls, sisters Runa and Rachel, as survivors. Thus, only six people remain in the Svalbard wilderness – yet they hold a treasure that the world believes is forever lost. ***** At the same time, in the territory of former China, Tchao is preoccupied with memories of her deceased son Wej-wen, whom she lost twelve years ago. She feels numb and lonely, every day feels the same. Moreover, like the rest of the nation, she is starving, as people have damaged nature to the point that many plant and animal species have completely vanished. Suddenly, an offer comes to participate in an expedition to the north. The destination is Svalbard and the seed vault. The fates of Tchao and Tommy, two completely different people with entirely different goals, will soon intertwine.
