Alison lives a peaceful family life on a rural estate. She has a loving husband and two daughters, which help her successfully overcome past childhood traumas. However, the idyll ends when Alison receives a call from her mother's assistant, informing her that her mother has cancer and only a few weeks left to live.
After some initial hesitation, Alison heads to the hospital, where her mother asks her to take her home for her last days. Alison, who had to face her mother's alcoholism and cruel treatment in childhood, is initially reluctant but eventually agrees. She hopes that they might finally find a way to each other and reconcile.
However, after her mother arrives, strange things begin to happen in the house. Alison starts to suspect that her mother's presence and a mysterious stone her mother brought with her are behind all the supernatural occurrences, and she decides to take matters into her own hands. How far will she have to go to protect her family?
