Hon na Bubáka – Chizmar Richard (2024)

In the summer of 1988, young and attractive girls begin to disappear in a peaceful and quiet town in Maryland, their mutilated bodies later appearing in unexpected places. Everything points to a serial killer wreaking havoc in what was once a calm and friendly place, dubbed 'The Boogeyman' by the media. Rumors spread through the town that this villain is not just an ordinary person, but rather a monster with supernatural abilities. How else to explain the missing traces and evidence or the carefully and methodically executed murders? However, the police and subsequently FBI members are convinced that this is a flesh-and-blood maniac who is toying with them, enjoying his dubious fame, and cleverly evading capture. The townspeople feel they have forever lost their peaceful home and that this nightmare will never end. It is during this time, shortly after the first murder, when a curfew is imposed and volunteer patrols begin to form, that twenty-two-year-old Robert Chizmar, a fresh journalism graduate, returns to the town. He is trying to launch his writing career and, in addition, is involved in preparations for his upcoming wedding to his high school sweetheart. However, he soon finds himself in the midst of a real horror story.
