She falls in love with the small town and its friendly residents who warmly welcome her. She has an interesting job at the local library and feels at home here. She would like to believe that her pursuer is no longer looking for her, but she is not that lucky – her tyrannical husband tracks her down despite all precautions and poses a threat. The townspeople and her friends do everything they can to help her, yet she must hide for at least a few weeks. The only place where no one would look for her is Jess's research boat, so Mel embarks on an unknown adventure and faces the reluctant Jess. The author writes in such a way that one feels as if they are strolling through the town, sitting with others in a café, and tasting the delights. She experiences a journey through the tropical Bahamian waters, gets to know the local attractions, the life of whales, and the scientists who accompany them on their journey north.
