The main character Takako suddenly learns from her boyfriend that he is planning to marry another woman. Heartbroken, Takako struggles at home and cannot bear to keep encountering her ex-boyfriend and his fiancée at work, so she resigns. ***** She copes with her sadness through sleep until the day she receives a phone call from her uncle Satoru. She hasn't seen him since childhood, and he now offers her a chance to help him run the Morisaki bookstore. ***** Takako travels to a Tokyo district full of bookstores and antiquarian shops, meets new friends, and discovers that books are not so worthless after all... ***** Uncle Satoru hasn't heard from his wife Momoko in five years when she suddenly appears in front of his bookstore. It seems that everything is back to normal, but Takako must intervene in their relationship to find out why Momoko disappeared back then. ***** And most importantly – why has she returned now?
