Cassio has lost his wife and now must take care of two small children while maintaining his power over Philadelphia. He needs a mother for his children and also someone to warm his bed at night. But in a world that values tradition as much as his does, choosing a wife is a duty, not a pleasure. Rules must be followed and traditions respected. As a result, he ends up with a woman – a girl – who is barely of legal age. This is not exactly what he and his children need, but she is kind and represents a sweet temptation he cannot resist.
