It is the year 1895, and Sherlock Holmes's new client is a Supreme Court judge whose headstrong daughter has disappeared without a trace. Holmes and Watson discover that the missing woman – Hannah Woolfson – has set out on a quest for another missing person, her close friend Sophie. Sophie has been recruited by a group known as the Elysianes, a quasi-religious sect obsessed with the myths and rituals of ancient Greece, led by the charismatic Sir Philip Buchanan. Hannah joined the Elysianes under a false name, believing that her friend had been murdered there. Holmes agrees that she should remain as his spy in this secretive yet seemingly harmless cult, but Watson is convinced that Hannah is in terrible danger. Sir Philip dreams of elevating humanity through classical ideals, at any cost...
