When Angelika Stein is expelled from school at the age of fifteen, it seems her dream has evaporated. No photographer in Kassel wants to take on a girl as an apprentice, especially one with unfinished schooling. At the same time, elite gymnast Kristýna Magold is diligently training in East Berlin to represent East Germany at the Olympic Games. But is it really her dream? During the construction of the Berlin Wall in 1961, the two women meet under dramatic circumstances.
