Twenty stories from the pen of the author famous for Psycho, who at the beginning of his literary career wrote shorter prose in the spirit of H. P. Lovecraft. The foundation of the anthology consists of stories from the 1930s that were published in the pages of Weird Tales. In them, Bloch gradually enriched the evolving Lovecraftian mythology with a new element – the mysterious tome De Vermis Mysteriis, now an integral part of this cultural phenomenon.
