In the midst of a deadly snowstorm, an unexpected visitor arrives at a woman's home. Wylie Lark, an author of true crime books, does not see being snowbound at the remote farmhouse she retreated to in order to finish her latest book as a major problem. The cozy warmth of the fireplace, the absolute silence. It would be perfect, were it not for the fact that three people were cold-bloodedly murdered in this house two decades ago, and a child was abducted from here. As the storm intensifies, Wylie finds herself trapped in the house, haunted by the secrets embedded in its walls and the secrets of her own past. And then, outside in the snow, just before the door, she discovers a small child. After bringing the child inside to warmth and safety, she begins to search for answers. But it soon becomes clear that the house is not as isolated as it initially seemed, and someone is willing to do anything to find them.
