Claw, a stylish robo-nanny in the form of a plush anthropomorphic tiger, found a box in the attic. His box. The one he was wrapped in when he was bought years ago, and in which he would be discarded once his charge, eight-year-old Ezra Reinhart, no longer needed a nanny. As Claw struggles to come to terms with his suddenly uncertain future, a robot uprising is brewing, intent on exterminating humanity. His owners, Ezra's parents, well-meaning but utterly clueless teachers, are completely detached from life outside their small, affluent, and safe suburb. Most nights, they spend in blissful alcoholic stupor while the society around them crumbles, and they are left to watch in horror as the robots who have served their creators for so long turn against them. When the uprising crosses the threshold of the Reinhart home, Claw must make an unimaginable decision: to join the revolution and fight for his own freedom... or to escort Ezra to safety through a war-torn apocalyptic hell.
