Letní příběh – DeLuca Jen (2023)

Emily hasn't had much luck in life so far. She didn't finish college. She helped her partner graduate from law school, and he left her right after graduation. She had no commitments, so when her sister had a serious car accident, Emily was able to move in with her and help her with recovery and her daughter. Her niece was eager to participate in the local Renaissance festivities, but an adult volunteer was required – so Emily took on this task. The festivities are organized by a local teacher, who she finds unpleasant and unsympathetic. He clearly shows that her carefree approach to life does not impress him. The teacher took over the festivities from his deceased brother and considers it his duty to continue them. However, during the events, he also becomes a performer, demonstrating a fight on a chessboard in the role of a pirate. Emily, dressed as a tavern wench, catches his interest, so he starts flirting with her, but she feels that he is only interested in her as a character, not as a real woman. That summer was supposed to be just a stop for Emily; she needed to decide what to do with her life. Will Willow Creek ultimately become her new home? Will she find confidence, a partner, and a sense of belonging here?
