Světla na Labi – Georg Miriam (2023)

Lily Karsten is the daughter of one of the most successful shipping families in Hamburg. She lives in a villa on Bellevue, dreams of becoming a writer, and believes she loves her fiancé Henry. One hot summer day in 1886, she delivers a ceremonial speech at the launch of a new ship when a sudden gust of wind blows her hat off her head and into the Elbe. One of the dockworkers is supposed to save it – but he suffers a terrible injury in the water. Jo Bolten grew up as a child in the impoverished Altstädter Gängeviertel, and now works at the port for Ludwig Oolkert, the most influential merchant in the city.
