The estate in Pomerania from 1913 to 1919 - the first part of a grand family saga of a noble family. A family caught between tradition and true love on the eve of World War I. May 1913. Konstantin, the eldest son and heir of the Greifenau estate, dares to do something incredible: he falls in love with a girl of common origin, worse still – with a village schoolteacher, Rebecca Kurscheidt, a convinced social democrat. They come from two opposing worlds – not only in terms of social differences but also in worldview. At the same time, the youngest daughter Katharina's mother plans a dream wedding for her with the nephew of the German Emperor – although it soon becomes clear what kind of monster hides behind the aristocratic facade. However, her heart belongs to someone else. Both noble children are playing hide and seek with their parents and society. Even though they hide their secret loves well, both are hurtling towards disaster...
