To save themselves and their loved ones, they must overcome fears and ominous premonitions, realize that they are not alone, and confront their nightmares, or else the phantoms will trap them behind doors and within walls from which there is no escape. The House is a novel that became famous, among other things, for being read with great interest by Stephen King while he was walking when he was struck and nearly killed by a van driven by an inattentive driver in 1999.
