A novel about an unrelenting desire for 'something better.' The main protagonist of the novel and the narrator of the story about the tireless search for love and a dignified place in society is surprisingly not the iconic designer Coco Chanel. She herself would never openly tell her story; on the contrary, she meticulously concealed many things until her death, including the existence of her two younger sisters. The author of the novel is inspired by real stories that, according to her, often turn out to be more interesting than fiction. Thus, from the shadows of time, the forgotten figure of Antoinette, Coco Chanel's younger sister, emerges vividly before us. She tells us a colorful story of her own life, inextricably linked to the initial phase of building the Chanel fashion empire. For all three Chanel sisters, their story began, against all odds, in a French convent orphanage at the end of the 19th century. In a way, it was an environment of a thriving 'business' led by women, which undoubtedly shaped the sisters significantly and indelibly influenced Coco Chanel's own fashion handwriting.
