When Matthew Lewis and his girlfriend Stacey are returning home from a party, they find themselves running out of gas on a deserted road between pastures. Matthew leaves Stacey waiting in the car and sets off alone to find help. In the distance, he spots a light and heads towards it, thinking he will find assistance there. However, he becomes an unwilling witness to something he should not have seen. By the time he realizes it, it is already too late. In the morning, Stacey is found dead in the car, and Matthew is gone. The police initially believe that Matthew killed Stacey and fled. Soon, however, the disappearance of another young man named Kieran Robinson is reported, and a body is found in the garden of a family home. It does not belong to either of them; this victim was murdered over thirty years ago. Two dead and two missing. The police have no reason to suspect that all three cases are connected. But is it really just a coincidence? What dark past does the unassuming garden hide, and how can its secret relate to the new cases when they are separated by at least thirty years? Detectives Alex King and Chloe Lane have their hands full. However, it's not just the new cases that are giving them headaches, but also some members of the investigation team who have their own secrets. The race against time begins.
