Events move quickly for Ham, a small hamster whom children choose at a pet shop. At their home, he enjoys a large, well-equipped cage and what looks like a comfortable, entertaining life. One day, however, strong winds knock the cage over, the door opens and Ham is free. His adventure begins when he settles in a pantry filled with delicious food. The peace does not last long: a hungry mouse whom Ham unwisely invites to share a meal, along with her troublesome family, completely wrecks the pantry. A cat helps him resolve the situation, and from then on the two friends experience both peaceful moments and wild escapades. But what will happen when Ham decides to travel far away on the wings of a swift to find his real family? His journey takes him all the way to the distant island of Madagascar. This Czech-language children's adventure shows that even a small hero can experience a great adventure when he turns fear into courage and discovers what matters most in life and what he needs to be happy.
