Martin Baláž worked for the police for thirty-two years. Initially as a regular police officer, then as an operative criminal investigator and crisis police negotiator. In 2012, he managed to unravel the methanol case and reveal who mixed the poisonous alcohol. He later moved to Prague, where he led the Tempus team. This team deals with so-called police memorials, or cases that have been shelved or are just before the statute of limitations expires. In this book, Martin Baláž recalls the most interesting cases of his police career: not only the methanol affair but also the capture of the perpetrator of the attack on tennis player Petra Kvitová.
