It's simple: either money or a woman is behind the murder. Krauz and Chosé had been serving in the homicide department for quite a few years and could only nod in agreement: practice mostly confirmed the old criminological rules. Even in the spring of 2003, when they found the mutilated bodies of the lovers, they knew from the start that the motive for the double murder would either be in the wallet of the young entrepreneur or in the panties of his mistress. To get further, they had to untangle the web of old events, but that didn't bother them, as untangling webs was their daily bread. They just couldn't understand why a beast in human form would shoot another person in the head and then in the body as well...
