Beschreibung
"Three powers: executive power, legislative power, and judicial power. What is power, is power!" A small taste of aphorisms from the new book by Jiří Slíva, an artist and poet known for his cartoon humor, who illustrates books, writes poems and aphorisms, composes songs, is the author of postage stamps, and plays the guitar... In the book Paragraforismy, he reflects on whether lawyers have a greater sense of humor than other professions. Or - can they make more fun of their profession and its symbols than others? And as an answer to these questions, this collection of drawings, caricatures, and illustrations with legal themes and symbolism was created. Jiří Slíva added three dozen aphorisms to the pictures. The Dean of the Faculty of Law at Charles University, Jan Kuklík, a professor of legal history, briefly explained the origin and history of the two main legal symbols - the paragraph and Justice - in an interesting introduction. Jiří Slíva wishes in the introduction to the book: "Let us hope that even though Justice is deliberately blind and unintentionally sometimes deaf, a sense of humor does not abandon her!"
