Beschreibung
This Czech-language manga concludes the two-part story about cultural differences and homophobia. The lives of Yaichi and his daughter Kana change after they meet kind-hearted Mike Flanagan, the widower of Yaichi’s twin brother. While Mike continues searching into Ryoji’s past, Yaichi begins to understand that being different does not mean being inferior. Meanwhile, the bond between Kana and her uncle grows stronger as they enjoy food, trips through the Japanese countryside and traditional customs together. Both must also come to terms with the approaching day of Mike’s departure. This story about cultural differences, homophobia and the universal desire for family has become one of the most acclaimed comics of recent years and has helped shape a modern understanding of manga in the West. It won the Will Eisner Award for Best Manga, received an honourable mention in the Japan Cartoonists Association Award, won a Japan Media Arts Award and was an official selection of the Angoulême festival. For readers aged fourteen and over.
