It’s June, and the entire region is gripped by an icy blanket. Isn’t the planet supposed to be warming up? Ten-year-old Eevi hates every day she has to squeeze into tights. But the tights are just a proxy problem — Eevi cannot cope with the loss of her grandfather.
After the funeral, Eevi goes to the river one last time. An innocent farewell turns into a fantastic journey through a monumental winter landscape with a group of mythical beings who know who can end the winter but no longer know how to find him. Eevi joins a rescue mission heading to the land of the dead, Tuonela. Not everyone in the colorful group, which looks like it stepped out of a Miyazaki film, has clear intentions, and not all are traveling to Tuonela for the same purpose...
