In the distant future, passengers of human generation ships will inhabit three star systems, naming them the Triumvirate and establishing a government called the Dominion. Jun Ironway, a hacker, trader, and occasional thief, receives the opportunity of a lifetime — fate drops evidence into her lap that one of the most powerful families of the Triumvirate, the Nightfoot clan, was involved in a planet-wide genocide three-quarters of a century ago.
