A cyberpunk thriller where drugs and music represent an escape from the traps of virtual reality. Hacker Pat Takešita struggles with drug addiction and unexpectedly collapses during her journey into cyberspace. When she discovers that her collapse may have been caused by an unknown new cybervirus, she embarks on a harrowing quest to uncover what this creation actually is. Deskar Hunter, captain of military intelligence at Arisu, the largest corporation in the world, has seen better days. However, due to past successes, he gets one last chance and is sent to Paris to investigate the rising number of network murders. His search, however, leads him to Tokyo. Seventeen-year-old Ronnie Luck finds information about the new virus on an illegal digital marketplace with a friend. But under mysterious circumstances, his friend dies, prompting Ronnie to flee his native Iceland. In the Japanese metropolis, he meets a mysterious compatriot who offers him a job and perhaps one day a meeting with the legendary Pat Takešita. Gradually, however, they all realize they are caught in a game far bigger than they could ever imagine.
