Beschreibung
A deliberately "disheveled" book in terms of genre. Both short and longer pieces, which strikingly and subtly, with their seriousness and grotesqueness, with a sense of drama and meditative calm, convey: Poetry is not a polished and refined discipline. On the contrary, it is a disturbing excitement, thrown into a life that is never complete. To miss precisely... What an apt, witty, and harrowing definition of poetic work! Here we find poems in verses, poems in prose, micro-stories, and one-sentence observations. All of this is composed on the pages so that the texts can be read as a collection of independent miniatures as well as a unified, multi-layered whole. The poet in the present work is fascinated by the phenomena of missing and meeting, but above all by the mysterious relationships between the two, as people are exposed to these unceasing tendencies just as words are in the creation of an artistic text. Following a recently conceptually tight collection, I Saw My Face, the acclaimed author – poet and essayist – presents a book that is unconventional and loosely conceived. This year, the jubilant Petr Hruška continues to surprise in literature. Let us look forward to his missings! They are precise.
