Whoever is afraid should not go into the woods. But isn't that a shame? ***** One sleepless night, the little cat Chloupek catches a glimpse of a shining light outside the window, beckoning him to come out. Out into the dark forest? After all, a terrifying bear lives there! Or at least that's what everyone says. However, Chloupek is not deterred. Not that he isn't scared, but the desire to find that shining light is greater. On his journey, he meets one forest inhabitant after another, and all of them are fun and enriching encounters. He learns to pack for journeys, help others, cooperate, be polite and sociable... But one thing all those diverse creatures agree on: one must be careful of the bear. ***** When we face new challenges, we often react with fear. Fear is a useful emotion, but sometimes it can be paralyzing, especially when it is based solely on rumors. The curious little cat Chloupek motivates children not to be afraid of new encounters and not to deprive themselves of joyful experiences. ***** The delicately colored pen drawings reveal an Asian origin and the author's refined sense of aesthetics. In many ways, they also remind us of the beloved titles from our childhood. It is simply a joyful literary encounter.
