The favor of the snake goddess is paid for in blood. Thousands of years ago, the elves from the Misty Mountains waged war. Then they fled underground before their defeat. Today, it is said that their blood is gray — it has turned gray from the poison of the snake goddess they serve. However, the Gray Prince Esmedill has learned that there is an antidote even for the deadliest poison. He longs to topple the snake goddess from her pedestal of power and lead the gray elves out of the underground, where they languish and die for her pleasure. In the company of his most loyal warriors, he felt omnipotent until everyone fell — except for one — Rudooka. The one whom the prince considered merely a slave takes charge at the last moment and forces him to move on. But where to, when the great dream has dissolved?
