A bittersweet novel about halftime, a journey to China, and the search for lost loves. Forty-three-year-old travel agency buyer Petr reflects on his long-term marriage, which is currently going through a severe crisis. He seeks solace in memories of his daughter Miriam's childhood, with whom he is losing touch, as well as his own adolescence. On a business trip to China, he grows close to a young hostess named Kristýna. However, the romantic adventure only exacerbates his problems. The derailment of his life and a series of disappointments bring only one positive outcome — they lead the hero to the trail of his first love, Lenka, who mysteriously disappeared years ago... Jan Kholl explores in his novel the fundamental life turning points that eventually lead a person to their deepest secrets. But what then to do with them?
