Beschreibung
Every family has its traditions. Some also have secrets. Little Teo's life unfolds in a slow, crushing rhythm. His distant and solitary mother educates him at home and instead of walks, takes him to a community religious center. Under the Christmas tree, Teo always finds just another installment of Kája Mařík. And every Sunday afternoon, his father disappears somewhere. However, adolescence cannot be stopped, and so Teo's sad routine begins to crack with the start of school and a new friend. And with it, the entire family situation, shrouded in silence, secrecy, and sadness. The older Teo gets, the more he distances himself from his family. But even his own independent life ultimately turns out to be everything but satisfying: there is an empty space in it that needs to be filled. Sunday Afternoon is a story about the struggles and tragedies of one family, told from three perspectives. What may seem distorted to the son suddenly makes sense from the mother's or father's point of view. It is a book about mutual passing by and coming together.
