Did the pandemic make us bigger readers, or rather the opposite? Did it skew our reading habits? The publication is based on a statistical survey organized by the National Library of the Czech Republic in February 2021. It presents data regarding our behavior before and during the COVID-19 pandemic — trying to find out which media activities increased the most, which ones decreased, how our reading habits changed, and how we perceived our children being in closed schools. The authors place the obtained data in a broader context of culture and social changes brought about by the pandemic. They also convey experiences from other countries.
