Beschreibung
A story of unfreedom, love, and obsession, and how evil thrives when power is blind. It is the year 1928. Dr. Hannah Neumann arrives at a nerve sanatorium in the Danish countryside from Vienna. Her task is to stop the recurring suicides that the team of the rigid director cannot handle. Hannah studied under Freud himself and begins to practice psychoanalysis in the old-fashioned sanatorium. Together with the ambitious nurse Dagmar, she embarks on almost detective work and soon discovers that all the deaths occurred during a full moon. Throughout, she must face the skepticism her work evokes among colleagues and seeks solace in a budding romantic relationship, which ultimately becomes a burden. What did four young women who drowned in the lake have in common? What secret does the mute patient hide, tormented by voices echoing from the walls of the sanatorium? And how many full moons will Hannah and Dagmar survive before another tragedy strikes?
