The name Queenie means queen. But this queen has no throne and no idea what to do with her life. Twenty-five-year-old Londoner Queenie works at a newspaper, and her life is one big mess — her long-term partner Tom wants to take a break from their relationship, no one at work is interested in her ideas, and Queenie doesn't quite fit in with her British colleagues or her family with Jamaican roots. She seeks comfort in the arms of random men from online dating sites, but they are only interested in her curvy figure and exotic skin color. One of Queenie's fleeting romances then sets off a chain of unpredictable events. Queenie hits rock bottom, and it seems there is no way back for her.
