Seventeen-year-old Lenni is spending her short life in a hospital ward for the terminally ill. To fill her monotonous days, she joins an art therapy course, but she finds she has little in common with her peers, who will soon return to the ordinary world. She transfers to a group of octogenarians, where she meets eighty-three-year-old Margot, a wise woman with a complicated past who completely changes Lenni’s life. Lenni and Margot soon realise that together they have lived one hundred years. They decide to leave something lasting behind: one hundred paintings representing the one hundred years of their lives. As they work together, they share and paint the stories of the years that brought them to this happy meeting at the end of their days. Yet life is not quite finished with them.
