When boyhood disappears too quickly... The scent of hay filled the air, the clubhouse was their home, and the time of boyhood seemed eternal. At least that’s how it appeared at the beginning of that sultry summer when Šíma met Vojta and Tobiáš, and together they plotted revenge on the hated old Habeš, who had been bothering them for a long time. What did it matter that the beer was flat and there were few cigarettes and girls? Everything seemed ideal; that is, until Tobiáš introduced them to a new gang led by fifteen-year-old Pavel Neumann, known as Péčko. From that moment on, it was as if the once fearless friends had grasped all the privileges of adolescence from the wrong end. None of them had any idea what consequences this could have. And how swiftly life would take away their childhood, forever transforming them into men.
