Beschreibung
What keeps a person alive… There are three. Initially children. The world is in balance. Later, everything changes. She loves one of them, and both love her. Zuzana Liebeskindová is the daughter of a sugar factory owner. She lacks nothing, moving through life easily, surrounded by love. Threads of burnt sugar float in the air. The 1930s in the small town of Holašovice are sweet. It is only during the German occupation that Zuzana begins to mature. She painfully roots herself in history, and history writes itself into her. Because of her Jewish heritage, her fate is predetermined. Transport. Concentration camp. Zuzana's friends Hanuš and Jan remain in Holašovice. However, their paths diverge. After the war, Zuzana returns from the concentration camp, but the losses are greater than she expected. Can she still love after everything she has been through? And does she even have a choice?
