Beschreibung
Milan Děžinský (born 1974) is a respected poet and translator of the middle generation; he won the Magnesia Litera for poetry for his latest collection Circling the Island (2017). He now presents an atypical new work, a collection that he describes as 'created from joy and piety,' and continues: 'While reading those great poets from the first half of the twentieth century, to be enchanted and swept away by the rhythm and melody that has long since faded. To write anachronistic poems and know that they belong to another century, yet be unable to ignore them. To let oneself be inspired and create echo poems from the sounds, even joyfully and without guilt plagiarize. To let go, to let go of one's crazy freewheel.'
