Beschreibung
In clinical practice, it is essential to make thoughtful and yet appropriately quick decisions. This skill becomes particularly significant when diagnosing pediatric patients, where time plays a crucial role not only in acute situations but also in non-acute problems, as delays in diagnosis can irreversibly harm the patient later in life due to their developing organism. However, decision-making algorithms cannot be comprehensively learned in undergraduate studies, and even after starting medical practice, they require some time. This publication provides a unique overview of the most common diagnostic problems from various pediatric fields that pediatricians encounter in their outpatient or hospital practice.
The monograph was created in collaboration between selected departments of the 3rd Faculty of Medicine at Charles University, which care for children and adolescents. The content is designed to be concise and schematic to assist especially novice pediatricians in correctly and quickly determining a patient's diagnosis. Interested professionals thus receive a tool for knowledge based on hundreds of professional publications supplemented by the authors' professional experiences.
